the lcv group. is a credit broker not a lender. Therefore, your information will be shared with other parties including the lender (Finance Company), vehicle supplier and any third parties, such as delivery companies.

credit reference checks.

When you apply for finance, we will obtain your consent to provide your personal information to the lender/finance company. We will inform you who the lender/finance company is and the lender/finance company in turn will use a Credit Reference Agency (CRA) to gather further information about you.

The CRA’s will provide the lender with information on your personal/shared credit, financial history, current financial standing, and fraud prevention information.

The lender/finance company will use this information to assess if credit can be offered. Lenders are obliged to lend responsibly, and it is their decision as to whether the product/service is affordable. CRA’s also assist the verification of the data provided and assist with the prevention of financial crime.

When the CRA has conducted a search, they will leave a footprint on your credit file and this may be viewed by other lenders/finance providers. If you are making a joint application, please ensure that you have the other persons permission prior to making the application as this information will be stored on both parties’ credit files.

recorded calls / electronic communication.

We record all telephone calls, emails, text and electronic documents. Calls are recorded for training and monitoring purposes. We also use these calls to audit our sales staff to ensure we are maintaining and delivering the correct information regarding our products and services. We may also refer to calls when dealing with a customer complaint to help settle any dispute. All calls are stored securely and never shared with any third party unless we are legally obliged to do so.

the future use, data retention and accuracy of your information.

In relation to the information, we hold on you, you have a number of rights which have been summarised below:

Right of access - You have the right to access the personal information we hold on you and to obtain information about how we process it. If your request is complex, our response time may be a maximum of three calendar months from date of receipt. We may charge a reasonable fee for these complex requests.

Right to Erasure – in some cases, the right to request deletion or removal of your information where there is no good reason for us to continue processing it, for example where processing is no longer necessary for the purpose for which your information was collected.
